Investigation of ultrasonic-assisted CNC cutting of honeycomb cores

Abstract As compared to traditional milling, ultrasonic-assisted cutting of honeycomb core materials has the advantages small force and superior surface quality. Currently, ultrasonic straight blade V-shaped machining is one most efficient roughing processes. The requirement a processing path be post-processed based on characteristics cutter key issues faced while meeting technological requirements CNC machine tools for machining. A post-processing method NC code proposed in this article. Initially, rough process planning done, followed by usage Unigraphics (UG) output initial code. Next, executed through three technologies second arrangement locations. Later, research done information lifting lowering cutter, along with chip breaking toolpath. Eventually, simulation experiment carried out VERICUT. results demonstrate that can meet requirements.
